Dr Claire Niedzwiedz
Senior Research Officer, Scotland
Claire is a Senior Research Officer for the Mental Health Foundation in Scotland.
Claire is interested in understanding and reducing inequalities in mental health and wellbeing and her research primarily takes a quantitative approach.
She previously worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford where her research examined the impact of natural policy experiments on mental health.
Prior to this, she worked at the University of Edinburgh at the Centre for Research on Environment, Society and Health (CRESH), where she researched the role of the environment in generating inequalities in mental health and loneliness across European countries.
Claire has a PhD from the University of Glasgow, which focused on understanding the role of social and economic conditions across the life course and wellbeing in older people. Her dissertation, as part of her MSc in Public Health Research, also explored the epidemiology of suicide clusters.
