The TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS, has officially been announced as the seventh Abbott World Marathon Major and is one of the most spectacular! Following a record-breaking year in 2024 as Australia's largest marathon, the event returned on August 31, 2025, with 33,000 runners crossing the finish line, with expectations to surpass its previous participant numbers as it continues to grow in scale and significance on the world stage.
Run one of the world’s most scenic marathon courses, taking in some of Sydney’s most beautiful and historic landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The course changes implemented over recent years are designed to align with expectations, ensuring a world-class course that meets the standards expected by the community and participants.
The TCS Sydney Marathon has earned its place among the world’s most prestigious marathon events, joining the ranks of the Abbott World Marathon Majors alongside the Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America, TCS London Marathon, Bank of America Chicago Marathon, BMW Berlin Marathon, Tokyo Marathon, and TCS New York City Marathon.
TCS Sydney Marathon participants enjoyed one of the greatest race in the world in 2025:
