Policy and Development Officer (Refugees), Scotland
Mohamed is the Policy and Development Officer for Scotland's Refugee programme.
Mohamed leads Musawa (equality in Arabic), a capacity building project to raise the visibility and voices of refugees in health forums at a national and strategic level across Scotland.
His background is in law and international relations. In 2015, he has developed an interfaith initiative called the Weekend Club in Glasgow which aims to address the social isolation faced by asylum seekers, refugees and new migrants during the weekend.
Mohamed is multilingual and has worked at the United Nations Environment Programme (CMS) in Bonn, the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin and at key departments within the Scottish Government. He is a board member at the Scottish Refugee Council and a qualified SFA 13+ football coach.
