Steve has over 30 years senior management experience across the energy, telecommunications and facilities management sectors with a record of success in public policy formulation, strategy development, regulatory management, marketing and communications. Over the last 25 years he has focused on developing and embedding responsible and sustainable business principles at EDF Energy, Vodafone and ISS.
Steve's strong interest in mental health stems from his personal experience and from observing the lack of mental health prevention and good practice in workplaces.
Steve became Chair of the Mental Health Foundation in June 2026 having previously been Chair of the Foundation’s Fundraising and Communications Committee for six years. He is a Trustee of Christ's Hospital of Abingdon and was previously a Trustee Board Member of the environmental charity Trees for Cities and was Chair of Audit at Soha Housing, a social housing provider owning 8,000 homes.
Steve gained a PhD in sustainability / Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting from Oxford Brookes University, and has lectured and held research positions at Brookes.
