Kate Hughes

Policy Intern

Kate is the Policy Intern for the Mental Health Foundation in Scotland.

With a Masters in Health Inequalities and Public Policy, and having worked on mental health research projects in Nepal and in refugee camps in Greece, Kate has a particular interest in the structural barriers to good mental health amongst socially marginalised groups.

Before interning with the Mental Health Foundation, she worked as a Programme Officer for a community development charity, helping to develop projects between Scottish and Central European partners, aimed at increasing the opportunities for young people in areas of high unemployment.

Kate is delighted to be working with the Foundation’s policy team on their campaigns and policy objectives.
