John McLoughlin

Group Facilitator, Standing Together Cymru

John joined The Mental Health Foundation January 2019 as a Standing Together Cymru group facilitator.

The Big Lottery funded project aims to address poor mental health and loneliness among residents living in sheltered and extra care housing schemes across South East Wales.

John has previously worked as a community development officer for an environmental charity. He has also worked on the Welsh Assembly’s flagship anti-poverty programme, Communities First in South Wales delivering community led projects, which has led him to passionately believe in individual and community empowerment and supporting people to be heard.

John has an adopted son with his husband.

John enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking, rock climbing and gardening which helps his mental well-being.
