Our work in Wales
Prevention
Poor mental health is not inevitable, and it is preventable. We can choose to organise and resource our communities, support people, and design systems in ways that create good health rather than damage it. Prevention is better than cure, and our work in Wales focuses on increasing understanding of and advocating for preventative approaches to mental health.

Inequalities
The likelihood of developing a mental health problem is shaped by the circumstances in which we are born, grow, live and age. Those who face the greatest socio-economic disadvantages, also face the greatest risks to their mental health. Our work in Wales focuses on how mental health inequalities can be reduced.

Community Solutions
The solutions to the mental health crisis lie outside of our NHS. Our role is to advocate for the societal changes needed as well as to co-produce, test and apply new solutions for our mental health beyond the health sector: in our workplaces, schools, homes, and in our communities and neighbourhoods that experience the greatest disadvantage.
