What is MyLife, MyFuture and who is it for?
MyLife, MyFuture helps to build emotional resilience and aspiration in young people as a way of helping them to progress in their lives.
The 18-month programme is for young people aged between 10 and 18 based in the London Borough of Sutton, who are either in care or have been in care.
"To me it is a place where you can go and be yourself, you make new friends. When I first started I didn't really know the people that well but now I feel like I am really close to them...I feel like they are another family." 13-year-old participant
With a particular focus on education and the workplace, MyLife, MyFuture delivers weekly sessions to young people through fun and creative group work, activities and mentoring. Young people may be referred professionally or via self-referral.
How is MyLife, MyFuture funded?
The project is funded by contributions from BBC Children in Need, the Constance Travis Trust and Big Lottery Awards for All.
