Dr Naomi Wilson
Senior Research Officer
Naomi is a Psychiatrist and Senior Research Officer within our Evidence and Impact Team.
This involves conducting and collating research on the mental health effects of a variety of different social, economic and healthcare policies, in order to influence policy makers across Scotland to make meaningful changes to reduce mental health inequalities. She also continues to work part time in an adult Community Mental Health Team in Glasgow and holds an honorary clinical lecturer post at the University of Glasgow.
Prior to joining the foundation Naomi worked in a variety of different roles as a junior doctor within the NHS, and more recently has worked exclusively within a range of different mental health services as a trainee psychiatrist. As a result, she has developed a strong interest in preventing avoidable differences in health across the population, the social determinants of mental health and the challenges of translating evidence-based research into effective policy making. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, painting and exploring Scotland’s Munros.
