Ben Plimpton

Project Manager – Empowerment and Later Life

Ben works across several projects focusing on peer support and self-management in mid and later life.

He joined the Mental Health Foundation in June 2015 as a facilitator on the Standing Together Project, which aimed to address poor mental health and loneliness among residents of retirement and extra care housing schemes. Other projects he’s worked on at MHF have focused on creativity, accessing nature, mental health in prisons, and men’s mental health.

Ben’s PhD was about the nature and frequency of intrusive memories in non-clinical populations.

He looks after his mental health by walking his dog Daphne around the parks of south east London.
