Self-Help and Isolation
We will set up and facilitate almost 30 groups with for older people in extra care and sheltered accommodation who experience loneliness because of dementia, mental health problems or learning disabilities.
The groups will therefore be inclusive of a rage of needs with a strong focus on co-production, active participation, self-help and peers support.
This work builds on the success of the self-help for people with dementia project and we have secured £300,000 from the Big Lottery to continue and expand this project across the south east of England, working with our project partner Housing & Care 21. The project will run over three years.
