Shizana Arshad

Administrator, Children & Young People's Mental Health Coalition

Shizana joined the Mental Health Foundation in 2016, working for the Children & Young People's Mental Health Coalition, which is hosted by the Mental Health Foundation.

Following a career transition after 16 years in the property industry, Shizana made the leap into the charity sector in 2015 working for a Birmingham-based educational charity as a project co-ordinator. She has managed the delivery of a series of programmes in primary schools to help increase attainment levels of children through a series of engaging workbooks. She also assisted in the development and funding of a child resilience workbook aimed at helping children who may be experiencing mental health problems.

A media postgraduate with over 10 years volunteering for a variety of charities, including Samaritans and Crisis, Shizana loves a challenge and brings a wealth of operational skills to take projects forward.

To look after her mental wellbeing, Shizana enjoys spoiling her cat, walking the dogs and getting stuck into a good movie.
