A Voice and a Choice: Right Here Showcase Event

22 January 2013

There is no denying the importance of youth involvement in supporting the mental and emotional wellbeing of young people. With the rate of anxiety and depression among teenagers having increased by 70% over the past 25 years, it seems essential that practitioners working to support young people's mental health are provided with the right tools to do so effectively.

To explore best practice in this area, Right Here is hosting A Voice and a Choice, an event designed to identify why we need new ways of supporting young people's mental health and what commissioners are looking for in an ideal support service.

The event, chaired by Gregor Henderson, Wellbeing and Public Mental Health Adviser, Department of Health, will offer attendees:

Workshops on young people's involvement in designing and delivering services

A series of interactive workshops highlighting most effective approaches to improving young people's mental health

How to engage with the most vulnerable
