The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities was commissioned by the Department of Health and the Office of the National Learning Disability Director, Anne Williams and Scott Watkins (co-Directors until 31st March 2011) to update the Framework for Action which was first published in 2004.
An Ordinary Life booklet1 May 2012
The booklet is based on the initial findings of a project called 'An Ordinary Life'. We called it this because many children and young people with complex health needs and/or who are dependent on medical technology find it very difficult to do ordinary things like going to the lcoal leisure centre or cinema, or visiting friends and family.

The findings of a small project in which four adults with Asperger Syndrome were supported at work. During the project a mental health occupational therapy specialist and an employment consultant jointly ran seesions with each participant to identify areas of difficulty that cause anxiety.
