FPLD has a breadth and depth of experience and knowledge helping to ensure people with learning disabilities have the same opportunities as other people through carrying out research, policy, development and consultancy work.
The team is supported by a broad range of consultants: experts by experience, families, and wider consultants who are project based. FPLD is part of the Mental Health Foundation and has access to their broader team including research and policy, communications and fundraising.
Christine-Koulla Burke, FPLD and Inequalities Lead
Christine leads our equalities work and has more than 35 years' experience in the sector. She has developed and managed a number of service improvement programmes in both health and social care over that time and her work has had an impact both nationally and internationally.
Reference and advisory groups
Our reference groups, which include consultant experts by experience with learning disabilities, are crucial to the development of all our work. Along with our advisory group and consultants, they offer a wealth of expertise towards the development of the work of the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities.
