Land's End to John o' Groats Cycle

This 13-day, 1000-mile cycle ride takes you from Land's End on the south-westerly tip of England to John o' Groats in the north of Scotland.

The beautiful route crosses Dartmoor and winds up through beautiful countryside, climbing the iconic road through Cheddar Gorge and tracing the Welsh border, before hitting the hills of the scenic Lake District and the unspoiled beauty of the Scottish Highlands.

The challenge requires training, as it involves around 80-100 miles (130-160 km) of cycling per day. You will therefore need good fitness and experience of long days in the saddle over lumpy terrain.

Most of the cycling is done on quiet country roads, although you will occasionally pass through towns and cities.

You can read the full trip itinerary here.

Please note that food and accommodation will both be provided. Accommodation is generally in larger hotels, though there may be some B&Bs. Rooms are usually twinshare and have en-suite facilities, but be prepared for variety! Breakfast and dinner will be available at the hotel/B&B, and there will be buffet-style lunch stops along the route to help keep your energy levels high.

With this trip, there is the option of a bike courier service so that your bike can be returned to you at home after the challenge. The standard cost of this is £89.
