Charles Elvin


Charles is an experienced and successful NED and CEO within both private and not-for-profit organisations focusing on learning, education and education technology. 

Previously, as CEO, Charles transformed the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and has undertaken two further, short-term, transformational CEO engagements; successfully moving both Services for Education and the Independent Schools Inspectorate from serious loss to profit.

Charles has been a long-standing advocate of the importance of mental health at work and is currently the non-executive Chair of Mental Health at Work CIC.  He was a key member of the team that spun it out of the Maudsley Charity. He joined the Trustee Board of the Mental Health Foundation in 2018 after the successful merger of Mental Health at Work CIC into the Mental Health Foundation. 

Currently, Charles runs a small consultancy, Elvin & Elvin Ltd, which provides organisations with transformation and change services, strategic guidance, interim senior leadership and HR services and solutions. He also runs ‘Charlie’s Wine’ a wine entertainment and events business for corporates and private individuals.
