VOX (Voices of eXperience) - Scotland

VOX is a Scottish national mental health service user led organisation. It works in partnership with mental health and related services to ensure that service users get every opportunity to contribute positively to changes in the services that serve them.  VOX became a company limited by guarantee with charitable status in the beginning of 2010.

VOX is currently hosted by the Mental Health Foundation. It aims to:

• Develop, support and sustain an accountable Scottish national organisation of, for and by people who have or have had mental health problems
• Drive policy and practice, facilitate partnership working and strengthen the voice of these current and past service users 
• Be a source of information, support or guidance in developing the capacity of people who have or have had mental health problems to participate in civil society, and in the development of services 
• Offer a means for current and past service users to communicate with each other and with other organisations, so that they may exchange opinion, perspective and experiences and so that they can support each other most effectively in making their voice heard
