We all have mental health; it is part of who we are. Just like our physical health there are things we can do to protect and improve our mental health and well-being. It’s a serious issue, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. In fact having fun can protect our mental health.
Chris Elf is a mental elf with personal life experience of the effects a mental health problem can have on your life, but for the last 12 years he has worked in mental health services raising awareness, reducing stigma and promoting recovery. Fiona is his better half Elf who is a teacher and a mother.
This Christmas and New Year, Chris and his wife Fiona we will be visiting scenic locations in Scotland and Yorkshire, visiting Santa to raise awareness of these issues and on New Year’s Day Chris Elf will make a splash in the North Sea at the Scarbourgh Dip. Each day they will be posting photos, videos and highlighting some ways we can better look after or improve our mental health.
This Christmas and New Year join the Mental Elves on their adventure, and help them raise awareness about mental health and collect funds for the Mental Health Foundation:
