Simon Lawton-Smith is the new Head of Policy at the Mental Health Foundation, replacing Moira Fraser who has moved to the Royal National Institute of Blind People.
Lawton-Smith joins the Foundation after four years as Senior Fellow in Mental Health at the King's Fund, the influential health policy and research think-tank. He has worked in the mental health sector since 1996, including a period as Head of Public Affairs at national mental health charity Together.
On his appointment to the Foundation, Lawton-Smith said:
“I am delighted to be joining the Foundation and building on its impressive record of mental health policy work. There is an increasing recognition that mental health is crucial to the well-being of everyone in the UK. I expect the Foundation to play a central role in influencing future mental health policy.”
