News Release, 7 February 2006
Tuesday 18 April 2006
The Mental Health Foundation will launch a report about the UK population’s relationship with alcohol, examining the positive and negative effects of alcohol, and how we use it to manage emotions and situations.
In light of substantial omissions of mental health in the National Alcohol Strategy, the report will examine why people drink and the mental health consequences of alcohol use, adding to the current debate on alcohol, which focuses on physical health, anti-social behaviour and addiction.
The report will be launched on Tuesday 18 April during Mental Health Action Week, which runs from Sunday 16 April – Saturday 22 April 2006 and will be backed up with a poster campaign and online activity.
