News Release, 5 September 2006
In response to Prime Minister Tony Blair’s speech on social exclusion policy today, Moira Fraser, Head of Policy at the Mental Health Foundation, said:
“The announcement of a new Social Exclusion Plan suggests that existing government measures to reach and help adults with mental health problems are inadequate. We need to see adults with moderate and severe mental health problems be given more support. Investment and action is needed, yet we are witnessing significant cuts to mental health services across the country.”
