Anyone glancing over Andrew McCulloch’s opinion piece on young people’s mental health last week would, from reading the introductory paragraph, have been forgiven for thinking he was calling for the abolition of specialist mental healthcare for that age group.  In fact, as the article made clear, he was asking for non-specialist services to take up some of the strain, not for specialist care to be abandoned altogether!
