Have your say!
Do you want the opportunity to share your views about the policies being proposed by the Government at Westminster?
The Mental Health Policy Panel has been running for several years and is key to helping our policy team develop their responses to Government policy proposals. The panel is made up of:
- people who have mental health issues
- family members and carers of people with mental health issues
- professionals who work with people with mental health issues.
You don't need a special understanding of policy or extensive knowledge of how Government and policy works. We just want your views about some of the key policy proposals being made, which affect mental health issues, to ensure we are capturing and reflecting everyone's views.
Why should I join?
Joining the panel is a great way to keep in the loop about the latest policy changes affecting mental health issues. Members of the panel get the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings about policies that will affect them. Unlike other forms of campaigning it doesn’t require much of your time and you can respond as often or as little to the emails sent out as you like. If you want the opportunity to share your experiences and views from whatever your perspective or background, this is the place for you.
How does it work?
Communication with the panel is primarily by email. About every two months (or when a key policy decision is being made) the policy team will contact panel members and ask for their views about a certain issue. Members of the panel can then contact the policy team directly with their views and these will feed into the policy teams responses.
None of this is compulsory - you can pick and choose which emails you respond to. To protect confidentiality, your details will not be passed on to anyone else.
