How can I get involved and do a community event?
Firstly, think about where you would like to do your fundraising - in school, univeristy, work, in church, with friends. Then decide if you want to try one of our tried and tested fundraising ideas, or come up with something new. For more inspiration see our A-Z of fundraising ideas
Hold a collection
We can provide your with collection tins, t-shirts and collectors badges, we need you to ensure you have the correct permissions before you start:
-
If you plan to hold your collection on private property, such as a pub or shopping centre, you must get the owner's permission first.
-
If you're holding a street collection, you'll need to apply for a permit from your local council. We can help you with his process, get in touch on 0207 803 1125.
-
Once you have obtained a permit, you will need to let us know the details of those taking part, what time and where.
Order a collection box
Every penny counts! We are looking for people to place collection boxes in suitable locations such as local shops, at work, local library etc and look after them for us. Contact our Events team to order a collection box.
Organise a coffee morning
This a simple and popular way of raising funds and awareness for the Mental Health Foundation.
All you need to do is get a group of friends or colleagues together, decide on a venue and charge a flat rate for admission to include a coffee, tea and a cake. We can provide you with information leaflets, posters and balloons to decorate your venue. For more inspiration see our A-Z of fundraising ideas.
