Hearing Aid 2008: fundraise with the Student Radio Association

Hearing Aid Logo

In March 2008 the Student Radio Association presents Hearing Aid - the biggest united effort in the history of UK student radio.

From Edinburgh to Exeter, stations up and down the country will join together to raise a huge amount of money for projects in the UK and Africa that use media to change people’s lives.

Why Hearing Aid are supporting the Mental Health Foundation

Mental illness is one of the most distressing things that can happen to a person. To those suffering with conditions like depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder, life can become a desperate struggle and the world can suddenly seem a very scary place.

1 in 4 of us will experience some form of mental illness at some point, and the rest of us will almost certainly have friends or family who experience problems, even if they never tell anyone about it. Left undiagnosed and untreated, poor mental health wrecks lives.

As a charity, we use practical projects to help people avoid, survive and recover from mental illness. Through our use of various media, including a newly re-launched website which attracts up to 7000 visitors each day, we have already made a lasting difference to millions of lives.

Money from Hearing Aid will help to develop, launch and market important new online services.
