Ann's story about how she uses the Mental Health Foundation's website to cope through difficult times

Ann says:

“Please keep up your amazingly good work.”

Ann tells us how the Mental Health Foundation website has helped her

"I’ve suffered from depression on and off for the whole of my adult life.

The Mental Health Foundation’s website is a constant source of interesting material to help me cope.

I love the podcast downloads that get me all relaxed.

"I found them really helpful when I was working in my previous company. People were losing their jobs due to the economic climate and I was left to cover five people’s jobs at once, so the pressure was immense".

Stress levels started to reach boiling point and my working life became unbearable. This aggravated my depression and I started to worry all the time.

What got me through was the information and podcasts on the website that enabled me to understand my mental illness. I found the ‘Fear and Anxiety’ podcast really useful. Listening to it made me appreciate what I was going through and what triggered it".

"I came away with practical tips, such as learning relaxation techniques, to deal with my fear. It also made me realise that the way I was feeling could happen to anyone and that I am not alone. This was such a relief".

This website has information to help people understand what mental health problems are as well as treatments and solutions that work.

It also offers advice and guidance to help people manage their own mental health.
