On 10 October 2006, the campaign welcomed the Department of Health's announcement that they are committed to ensuring all GPs in England can offer their patients psychological therapies within 6 years. See full response.
However, we continue our campaign calling for appropriate choice and access to therapies on the NHS.
Find out more and get involved with the campaign by:
Completing the We Need to Talk questionnaire
We want to hear your experiences of waiting times and access to psychological therapies on the NHS. More information about the questionnaire.
Viewing the New Savoy Declaration
We are 1 of the 19 signatories to the New Savoy Declaration calling for psychological therapies to be free on the NHS within the next 6 years.
The declaration also brings together representatives from a wide range of organisations to congratulate the Government on implementing NICE guidelines for the treatment of anxiety and depression and calls on Britain to become a world leader in the provision of psychological therapy.
Reading the We Need to Talk report
This report argues that evidence-based talking therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy are as important for the nation's health as any cancer drug or surgical procedure.
Finding out more about the We Need to Talk petition
The 'We need to talk' coalition handed in 9,000 signatures to the Department of Health, asking for improved access to psychological therapies on the NHS.
On behalf of the coalition, thank you to everyone who signed the petition.
