Support our appeal to help people overcome devastating anxiety

We all know what it’s like to feel frightened. But for 1 in 7 people in the UK, persistent feelings of overwhelming fear and anxiety are debilitating.

Many people are ruled by their anxiety, unable to do the simple, everyday things that most of us take for granted - like going to work.

When this happens life becomes all about what you CAN’T do. Can’t sleep, can’t concentrate, can’t eat, can't see friends. Some people can’t even leave their house. This has a devastating impact on their lives, and the lives of people they love.

But with the right support you CAN overcome anxiety.

At the Mental Health Foundation we take a practical approach to mental health. We research many areas neglected by others - such as diet, talking therapies, and exercise. All these strategies CAN and DO help people overcome anxiety.

We also work to tackle the chronic under-treatment of mental health problems in our society by reaching people, enabling them to recognise and give a name to their problems, and to come forward and ask for help.

Every year, during Mental Health Action Week we reach millions of people with our messages about how to seek help and advice so they believe they CAN survive, recover from and prevent their own mental health problems.

But to do this all this, we need your support.

Please donate so we can keep reaching out to people with the practical tools they need to overcome the anxiety that dominates their lives.
