Campaigns at the Mental Health Foundation

As an independent charity, our campaigns aim to:

 

  • push mental health up the political and social agenda
  • raise awareness of mental health issues in the media 
  • work to influence civil servants and politicians at a national level

We have also had one off campaigns, such as:

 

  • Food and Mental Health - a campaign to change behaviour to increase the use of diet in the care, treatment and promotion of mental health

We also campaign with other charities to give ourselves a bigger voice, including:

 

  • Mental Health Alliance - a coalition of more than 70 organisations campaigning for a better Mental Health Bill

 

  • Making Decisions Alliance - a consortium of nearly 40 organisations campaigning for new legislation on mental capacity for England and Wales

 

  • Self Harm Inquiry - a campaign to develop better and more appropriate responses to young people who self-harm

 

  • We Need to Talk -  a campaign consisting of 5 leading mental health organisations calling for an increased investment in and wider access to psychological therapies on the NHS.
