In 1999, when the The Scottish Government was established as the devolved government for Scotland, certain powers were transferred from the UK parliament to the new Scottish parliament.
Since devolution, policies concerning health and social inclusion in Scotland have been among those set by the Scottish Government.
Some of Scotland’s health policies are different from those in the rest of the UK and health services are also structured differently, particularly at local level.
We work on mental health issues in their Scottish context. We seek to influence policy and develop services specific to Scotland.
