Professor David Kingdon, Trustee

David Kingdon is Professor of Mental Health Care Delivery at the University of Southampton and Honorary Consultant Adult Psychiatrist for the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

He chaired the Expert Working Group which developed the Recommendation on Psychiatry and Human Rights adopted by the Council of Europe in 2004, was a member of the Department of Health’s National Service Framework for Mental Health External Reference Group and is currently part of the group examining the Role of the Psychiatrist.

His research interests are in cognitive therapy of severe mental illness and mental health service development on which he has published over 100 papers, numerous chapters and five books.
