Dr Stephen Beyer, Trustee

Stephen Beyer is the Deputy Director of the Welsh Centre for Learning Disabilities at Cardiff University.

He has been a researcher in the area of learning disability and services for around 25 years. He has been involved with the Learning Disability Implementation Advisory Group (LDIAG) since 2006 and he is the Chairperson of the “Meaningful Lives” sub-group. 

He was invited to be a part of LDIAG through his 15 year involvement in researching supported employment to help people with learning disabilities to secure jobs. He is also very interested in helping young people with a learning disability to have better options when they leave school, particularly by having more and better access to employment. He has written a wide range of reports, articles, chapters and book on these subjects.
